HUNDUM SICHER - WHERE IT ALL BEGAN...
"Dogs not allowed," was written on the shop's door. But leashing my dog in front of the shop is not an option for me. The reason: dog theft (also known as dognapping). The theft of dogs has increased dramatically in recent years. Purebred dogs are particularly affected. After they are stolen they are sold on for profit or used for breeding purposes. For dog thieves, it's a quick thing. For me, however, my whole world would collapse without my French bulldog "Homie."
Even though I'm sure that my stay in the shop wouldn't last long, I accept the inconvenience to be on the safe side and take my dog home. My thoughts are turning to the upcoming vacation with my dog. As a solo traveler, how could I handle a situation in which putting my dog on a leash is unavoidable? I wanted to be prepared for that! And so I first thought about an anti-theft protection for dogs...
When I couldn't find a suitable anti-theft device, I decided to make my own. And that's how I came across paracord. Paracord is extremely strong and tear-resistant, but also slightly elastic. The material is also very durable, washable, and quick-drying, making it perfect for my project. I combined the paracord with a steel cable and lock and tied my first anti-theft collar for the dog. The look of this first version admittedly still needed to be improved, but the collar absolutely served its purpose.
It wasn't long before the first leash with anti-theft protection appeared. In combination, the protection not only gave us an incredible amount of security when traveling, but also made our everyday lives much easier. We could combine a walk with a visit to the bakery, a spontaneous trip to the late shop or a quick trip to the post office - suddenly it was all possible. With the certainty that my dog couldn't simply be let off the leash, my entire daily planning as a dog owner became much more flexible.
Last but not least, I also really enjoyed tying knots. And so I started to create more and more dog accessories, each one more refined. I quickly noticed that I just couldn't run out of ideas for protecting Homie. And I started to ask myself: If this worked for Homie, wouldn't it be great if other dogs could benefit from it too?!
And yes, here we are! We have made it our mission to protect dogs and give owners a feeling of security.
