How do I measure my dog’s neck size correctly?
To ensure your custom-made collar fits perfectly, accurate measuring is essential.
Follow these quick steps:
1. Measure while your dog is sitting
Have your dog sit calmly. Other positions — or measuring an old collar — can lead to inaccurate results.
2. Measure the widest part of the neck
Place the measuring tape (or a string) around the widest point of your dog’s neck, where the collar will sit. Keep it snug but never tight.
3. Add two fingers for comfort
Slide two fingers between the neck and the measuring tape. This ensures a comfortable fit without the collar being too loose.
4. Read the final measurement
Note the length shown on the tape. If using a string, lay it flat against a ruler to get the exact centimeter value.
Tip: Take your time – an accurate measurement is the key to a perfect fit.

What if my dog falls between two sizes?
If your dog measures between two sizes, always choose the larger one.
A collar that’s too tight can cause discomfort — a slightly looser fit ensures better comfort and safety.
Which dogs is the wide model suitable for?
The wide model (approx. 4–5 cm) is especially suitable for:
- medium to large dogs
- dogs with a neck size of about 30 cm and above
- slender, long-necked breeds (e.g., Podenco types) starting at around 25 cm
The wider design looks more balanced on larger dogs, distributes pressure evenly, and is ideal for stronger or more powerful breeds.
Which dogs is the narrow version suitable for?
The narrow model (approx. 2 cm wide) is ideal for:
- small dog breeds
- dogs with a smaller neck circumference
- delicate dogs where a wide collar wouldn’t fit well visually or ergonomically
Examples:
Chihuahua, Dachshund, Yorkshire Terrier, Maltese, Pomeranian, Zwergspitz, Jack Russell Terrier, Havanese, Toy Poodle, and similar breeds.

Can I make changes to my order afterwards?
We can adjust your order within the first 5 hours after payment.
After that, your item will already be in production and changes are no longer possible.
How long does the production process take?
Production times vary depending on the product type:
DOGGYGUARD® Anti-Theft Leash:
Usually ready to ship within 1–2 business days.
Custom-made leashes & collars:
Approximately 3–5 business days.
Sets (Leash + Collar):
Due to multiple custom components, around 5–7 business days.
Every piece is handcrafted with care — quality and safety always come first.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping times depend on the destination country:
Germany: 1–2 business days
EU: 2–8 business days
International: 5–14 business days
Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive a tracking link so you can follow your package at any time.
Do you offer express production or express shipping?
Yes! Just message us before placing your order so we can check whether express production or express shipping is available.
Where can I track my order?
As soon as your package is on its way, you will automatically receive a tracking email from us.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes – we ship worldwide. Shipping is always free .
I entered the wrong address – what should I do?
Please contact us as quickly as possible.
As long as your order hasn’t been shipped yet, we can easily correct the address.
ANTI-THEFT PROTECTION & GPS
How does the anti-theft protection work?
Our collars and leashes contain a flexible steel cable core.
Combined with our lockable buckle, it makes unauthorized removal extremely difficult.
Fast, simple, and suitable for everyday use — without restricting your dog in any way.
Is the anti-theft protection secure?
Our products provide practical, everyday protection that makes theft significantly more difficult.
Important: They don’t replace supervision — but they do reduce risk in common situations (bakery, corner shop, parcel drop-off, etc.).
Are AirTag or SmartTag holders visible?
No — both are discreetly integrated on the inside and remain invisible from the outside.
Do AirTags work reliably in dog collars?
Yes. AirTags use Apple’s Find My network and work especially well in urban areas.
Are the GPS tracker holders waterproof?
Our standard integrated silicone AirTag holders are splash-resistant and suitable for everyday use.
If you need a fully waterproof solution, our DESIGNED BY YOU range includes special waterproof holders.
These options are clearly marked in the configurator, so you can easily choose the version that fits your needs.
Do you offer additional GPS holder options?
We currently integrate invisible holders for Apple AirTag and Samsung SmartTag.
We are reviewing additional systems — updates will follow on Instagram and via our newsletter.
MATERIALS & USAGE
Can I wash the collar and leash?
- Yes! Our products can be cleaned without any issues.
For the best care, we recommend: - Wash inside a laundry bag
- 30 °C (cold/gentle cycle)
- Do not use fabric softener
DOGGYGUARD® note:
Please remove the lockable buckles before washing to protect them and extend their lifespan.
This keeps your gear looking great and fully functional for a long time.
Do Paracord colors fade over time?
With regular use, slight changes in color can occur — however, paracord is one of the most durable materials in the outdoor sector.
Is the steel cable flexible and comfortable for the dog?
Yes — it’s lightweight, flexible, and padded on the inside, so your dog won’t feel it while wearing the collar.
Can I use your products for my cat as well?
- Yes — we’ve actually made many cats happy already!

RETURNS & WARRANTY
Can I return custom-made items?
Unfortunately, not — custom-made products are personalized and therefore excluded from returns.
But: If something doesn’t fit as expected, please contact us. We will always do our best to find a good solution for you.
Non-personalized products, such as the standard DOGGYGUARD® version or digital gift cards, can be returned within 30 days if unused.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
What if my product arrives damaged?
Please contact us within 48 hours — we’ll take care of it right away.
